Alumna, Class of 2014, Applied Economics
General Manager, Guangke Anjian (Zhuhai) Technology Service Co., Ltd.
From BNBU to the Greater Bay Area, Chen Xuejiao's entrepreneurial journey has been one of trial and error and reinvention. Though she jokes her grades “weren't great”, her experience across finance, pharma, investment, and tech services has led her to her own life philosophy: “Steady accumulation brings natural success.”
The Beginning at BNBU: The Foundation of Whole-Person Education
In 2010, Chen Xuejiao entered BNBU with a passion for finance and chose Applied Economics, then a popular major. That was the start of her whole-person education journey.
BNBU's open, international environment offered a new way of learning. Looking back, she says, “My grades weren't great, but at BNBU, teachers still did everything they could to help.” That support became her psychological bedrock when facing startup struggles later.
Beyond classroom knowledge, BNBU's whole-person education pushed students into clubs, volunteering, and projects. That's where she quietly learned teamwork and self-learning. “Education has a lag,” she says. “You don't always see the value right away—but one day, when you need it, it clicks.”
From Career Missteps to Startup Dreams
After graduation, Chen Xuejiao didn't jump straight into entrepreneurship. She first worked as an assistant to the R&D President at Livzon Group. “That role taught me to think seriously about technology and see how a company really operates,” she says.
She then joined China Merchants Bank, where she gained three years of experience in financial services. The pace of working in a large corporation made her realize that personal growth often requires a long period of accumulation, which is a reality that clashed with her desire to realize her own value more quickly.
Her entrepreneurial journey truly began at an investment group. As China's “mass innovation” wave surged, she worked in wealth management, witnessing market highs and lows. “After policy tightened around 2018-2019, the market crashed. That's when I started asking: what does real investing mean?”
This reflection sparked her entrepreneurial idea. In 2019, she founded Zhuhai Anjian, focusing on corporate services, and gradually found her place through hands-on practice.
Breaking the Ice: From the First Deal to Building Trust
The hardest part of starting up? The first deal. Chen Xuejiao knew that without trust, a business plan is just paper. “My consulting firm entered Zhuhai late with no track record. Clients wanted experience we didn't have yet. Getting that first client was incredibly tough.”
With her investment group experience, she helped a company polish its business plan for a national competition. The results won her recognition. A member of that team later helped her secure investment from the Guangdong Academy of Sciences. That trust opened the door to future collaboration.
Years later, that client connected her with the Guangdong Academy of Sciences. Her expertise and sincerity earned her company a partnership within the Academy's system, providing post-investment services to tech enterprises. The evolution from “Zhuhai Anjian” to “Guangke Anjian” marked a significant leap in her career.

The Darkest Hour: Learning to Accept and Adapt
The entrepreneurial path has had many dark moments. Once, she helped a company secure a large government subsidy, but after the company was acquired, it no longer qualified. “I wasn't happy, but from the company's perspective, it was a necessary step in its growth. We had to exit.”
This sense of frustration once made her anxious, but she learned to view things from a long-term perspective. “There are some things that cannot be changed at the individual or company level. Entrepreneurship requires constantly adjusting your mindset and embracing uncertainty.”
Cash crunches, market swings, broken trust—she's seen it all. But she meets every challenge the same way: “steady accumulation, natural success.”

How an Innovative and Entrepreneurial Mindset Took Root
Looking back, Chen Xuejiao realizes that every step added to her strength. “I thought I was just jumping between industries with no direction,” she says with a laugh. “But now I see that all of it has come in handy.”
At Livzon Group, she was exposed to R&D, and now she can communicate efficiently with the R&D departments of tech companies. At the bank, she learned the logic of credit, and now she can help connect businesses with financing channels. At the investment group, she mastered the principles of equity investment, and now she can assist startups in raising funds more effectively.
These experiences shaped her entrepreneurial mindset: integrate resources, focus on results, and serve user needs. She emphasizes, “The most important thing for an entrepreneur is the ability to solve problems. A business must see results in order to keep running.”
Message to Current Students
As an alumna, she mentors BNBU student startups and is always impressed by their drive. Her advice: “Go after things bravely. Make things happen. The outcome matters less than the process—it will reshape you and give you real agency. You're not a bystander in your own life. You're a participant. A maker.”

“Learn to accept your strengths and put them to good use,” she encourages current students. “The first three years after graduation are a process of trial and error. If you don't know what you want to do, start by trying what you don't want to do. Gradually, you will discover what you truly want.”
Today, Chen Xuejiao is still advancing in tech financial services, hoping to support businesses with innovative solutions. “Investment isn't just about making money,” she says. “It's about understanding companies and helping them grow.”
For her, entrepreneurship is a marathon of growth, needing both courage and patience. As she always puts it, “Steady accumulation, natural success.”
Her BNBU education, finance and investment experience, and entrepreneurial journey have shaped her into who she is: resilient yet gentle, rational yet steady. Her path may have been winding, but each step prepared her for what came next.
